Rain Ready recap

Idea dump of how to solve flooding in West Town area. Urban flooding in Chicago cost from 2007-2011 = $735 million. Currently no resources assigned due to not being in a flood plain. What are opportunities in West Town to incorporate solutions in flooding? Ideas from attendees: educate & Implement viable options as individuals; create more green space; assess and update infrastructure; solicit municpal action.

Center for Neighborhood Technology states that as EVA, we can join their cause, they can come to our meeting to educate the members, if enough interest is generated within the community, they will send someone out to perform an assessment and offer recommendations to help with urban flooding.

New business

Art gallery committee could create outreach to residents to purchase or take advantage of what the galleries are offering. Perhaps have an event in the bathhouse space. Become a co-sponsor of the art walk. Open up business memberships, perhaps offer free year if join. Neal to approach Michelle at bathhouse to discuss event. Look into asking artists and galleries if they are interested.
